DESCRIPTION:  The Gunni Shack is a single floor apartment with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, a small galley kitchen, washer and dryer units, as well as a living room and dining room. The space is newly created with vacation rental guests in mind with simple elegant touches of color in the new linens, retro-modern furniture, and fun décor.

When creating this space we had guests in mind who wished to forgo the sterility of motel rooms for the comfort of a home which is why the kitchen has granite countertops with all the necessary full-size appliances. AC is not a common feature in most properties in Buena Vista area, however, this apartment does have AC for guests’ comfort during the summer months.

The property has plenty of outdoor space also. A small patio in front is perfect for watching the world go by while the back patio is oversized with a surrounding privacy fence, the perfect spot to read a good book or take an afternoon nap. During the warmer months you will find a gas grill, bistro lights, patio furniture, and gas firepit to enjoy during cocktail hour or an outdoor meal before taking in the various music events you can find around town. The apartment is one block from Town Lake as well as the center of town. Guests can walk to downtown in less than 5 minutes to dine at any of the multiple restaurants, shop at any of the boutiques, or enjoy the eclectic nightlife.

Guests come to Buena Vista, Colorado USA for a variety of reasons and during every season. We are located in the Upper Arkansas River Valley in the shadow of several 14,000 peaks, which include Mt. Princeton, Mt. Antero, Mt. Columbia, and Mt. Yale. Another notable mountain is Buffalo Peak to the east. For those who are looking for outdoor activities there are many hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails. The Cottonwood Trailhead of the Colorado Trail is just 7 miles west near Cottonwood Lake. There are many fishing spots including Cottonwood Lake, Twin Lakes, and Clear Creek Reservoir. We are also located near two world-renowned geothermal hot springs and neither have the sulfur smell often associated with hot springs. Rafting or kayaking the Arkansas River is the destination for thrill-seeking adventurers in the summer but if fall or winter is more your vibe, this valley is as good as it gets in Colorado for leaf peeping, cross-county skiing, ice fishing, and even snowmobiling.
